George D. Jerstad

George D. Jerstad, 77, passed away in the comfort of his own home with his family at his side on Wednesday, December 17, 2008. He was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on February 17, 1931, the son of George and Louise (nee: Wick) Jerstad.

George was a Washington Park High School graduate, the class of 1950. On May 30, 1958, George was united in marriage to Patricia Donovan in Fox Lake, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on November 26, 1997. He was a proud member of Union Grove Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, baptized on December 12, 1970. George was a plumbing supervisor for the state of Wisconsin, Southern Center, retiring in 1987 after 25 years of service. He enjoyed photography, gardening and teaching others about the Bible.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Diana (Kevin) Scott of Racine; two sons, Ken Jerstad of Poplar Grove, IL, and Mark Jerstad of Hampshire, IL; and a sister, Janice (Larry) Nielsen of Racine.

A memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 14509 Braun Rd., Sturtevant, WI 53177, on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at 2 p.m. with Elder Earl Goebel officiating. There will be a memorial visitation on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of service.
