Franziska (nee: Egger) Deutschenbaur, 93, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2008, at Ridgewood Care Center. She was born in Unterbleichen, Germany, on June 15, 1915, the daughter of Georg and Agnes (nee: Birle) Egger.
She had been a resident of Racine for the past 47 years. Oma was united in marriage to Josef Deutschenbaur. Oma was a member of St. Rita’s Church. She was a housekeeper for James Hamilton for 29 years.
Surviving are her two daughters, Agnes Bergstrom and Emma Steinhoff, both of Racine; grandchildren, Alex (Gail) Bergstrom of Racine, John (Natalie) Bergstrom of West Allis, Susanne Bergstrom of WA, Karen Bergstrom of CO, Raymond (Karen) Billips of Racine, Francis (Willy) Gold of Racine and Connie (Toby) Masterman of Racine; great-grandchildren, Nina, Jared, Heather, Philip, Carly, Gregory and Paul; great-great-grandson, Maxwell; great-great-great-grandsons, Niko Anthony and Quinton; brother, Fritz (Ruth) Zick of BC. She is further survived by nieces, and nephews in Germany, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Josef, on November 30, 1959; brother, George Egger; sisters, Balbina Zick and Theresa Schwegle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rita’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Joseph Stobba officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Rita’s Catholic Church or Friends of Seniors have been suggested.
