Wilber Martin Jensen, 91, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2008, at Wheaton Franciscan Health Care-All Saints. He was born in Racine on July 31, 1917, the son of Martin and Lillian (nee: Pottinger) Jensen.
On June 15, 1946 Wilber was united in marriage to Helen Rogers in Milwaukee. He served with the United States Army, Third Armored Division. Wilber retired from the U.S. Postal Service after more than thirty years of service. He was a member of the Retired Federal Employees Association. Wilber loved all sports, especially baseball and basketball.
Surviving is his wife, Helen; sister, Joyce (John) Brossart of CA; sister-in-law, Sarah Jensen of Racine; and brother-in-law, Burton Rogers of Milwaukee. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Wilber is preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Jensen, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Listowel Ayensu-Mensah officiating. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday before services from 10:30 until time of service. Private burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial park.
