Patricia J. Knop, age 81, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Pat was born in Champaign, IL, on August 30, 1927, daughter of the late Thomas T. and Pearl M. (Nee: Nelson) Hay.
On May 4, 1946, in Racine Pat was united in marriage to Frederick J. Knop who preceded her in death, September 19, 1990. Pat, her husband and family owned and operated Frederick Manufacturing Company, Inc. for many years. She was a member of Christ Church United Methodist and Job's Daughters. Pat also belonged to several organizations including Business and Professional Women where she served as past president, Racine Jaycette, Badger State Doll Club, Racine Yacht Club, and various bridge clubs. More than anything, she devoted her life to and treasured time spent with her family. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Cheri (Charles) Petersen and Susan (Gary) Scheel; her six grandchildren, Chad Petersen (Melissa McCabe), Carrie Ann (Michael) Scheckler, Cory (Erika) Petersen, Tanya (David) Eastman, Richard G. Scheel and Carrie Lynn Petersen; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Billie M. Baker; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dusty Martin; and brother-in-law, Glenn W. Baker.
Funeral services will be held at Christ Church United Methodist, 5109 Washington Ave., on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Awilda Nolla officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a..m. until time of service. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
