William L. “Larry” Andersen, age 80, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008, at Washington Manor, Kenosha. Larry was born in Racine on April 16, 1928, son of the late Arthur and Helen M. (Nee: Graham) Andersen.
Larry was a meat cutter prior to enlisting with the United States Army Air Force in February of 1945. After ten years of service he became employed as a postal clerk until his retirement to Florida in 1971. Larry then returned to Racine in 1999 to be closer to his family. He will be sadly missed.
Survivors include his sister, Edith M. Andersen of Racine; his cousins, Don (Joyce) Andersen and family of Delevan, Bette (Ted) Lozano and family of Milwaukee, Barbara (Charles) Hellesen and family of Racine, Dorothy Ralph and family of Alabama; his good friends, Fred Vandergraf of Bradenton, FL, Peter and Carol Feest of Racine; other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 745 Main St., on Friday, January 2, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Brad Van Fossen officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday from 10:30 a..m. until time of service. Memorials to the First United Methodist Church have been suggested.
