Leona Alma Christensen, 86, passed away at Becker Shoop Center on December 14, 2008.
Leona was born in Beaver to the late William and Edna (nee: Trapp) Mueller on August 2, 1922. She had lived in Racine for the past 50 years. She was united in marriage to Harold R. Christensen on January 17, 1942. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1973.
Ms. Christensen was employed at the Racine Medical Clinic for several years. She was an avid Dicken's Village Collector and reader. She was a bird watcher and loved her dogs, Scruffy and Dually.
Leona will be dearly missed and forever remembered by one daughter, Patricia (Carmon) Darracott; four grandchildren, Rebecca, Steven, and Stacey Mitchell, and James Daracott; two sisters, Eleanor (Donald) Oleson and Dorothy Schmude; one brother, Eugene (Joan) Mueller; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Lesselyoung; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Janine Mitchel; one granddaughter, Sara Mitchell; three sisters, Edna (James) Troxell, Emma (Fred) Thiele; and Lucille (Orin) King; and one brother, Kenneth Meuller.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Tim Wynne officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until service time.
