Richard James Post

Richard J. Post, 74, went home to be with the Lord with his family at his side on December 28, 2008.

Richard Post was born in Racine to the late Casey and Olga (nee: Zimmerman) Post on February 19, 1934. He lived in Racine County all his life. In Racine, he was united in marriage to Iona Roder on June 9, 1956.

Mr. Post served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and trained at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. He was employed at Jacobsen Textron Mfg. Co. since December 11, 1961 retiring on January 25, 1996.

Mr. Post attended First Evangelical Free Church for many years, and accepted the Lord on his Birthday in 2007. He was a man with a big heart and always gave a helping hand. He had a fun sense of humor. He enjoyed gardening, especially his flowers, cats, fishing and going up north.

Richard will be dearly missed by his wife, Iona; three children, Daniel Post, Sharon (Timothy) Rosin, and Randall Post; three grandchildren, Christopher, Lori and Steven Rosin; two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Arline (Gene) Levandowski, Dolores (James) Liscomb and Richard Hansen; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Ronald Post, Laura Post and Claudine Post; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by one infant son, Alan; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lorraine (Aage) Nelsen and Jeanette Hansen; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Wayne Post, Robert Post and Judith Post.

Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, January 2, 2009, at 1 p.m. with Rev. John Bodner officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time.
